One of the fundamental elements of an email campaign is an up-to-date email list. That is why we encourage our clients to garner email addresses and other pertinent information from customers. Short of buying a mailing list, there are many inexpensive ways of doing this at trade shows. Another method is to offer a small gift or coupon on your web site if the viewer registers his name and email address.

Email campaigns should have a purpose. Ideally, a call to action and an offer of a benefit for the recipient. No one likes junk email, so crafting a purpose and a benefit is very important. You can announce a new product, a special sale or an event for example. If you run a retail establishment, special sales and coupons usually get attention.
